Pastor's Pen
May 2017
by Pastor Alan Darby

Dear Friends,

“He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!” Hallelujah!! Yesterday was our grand and glorious Easter Sunday celebration. I am still basking in the after-glow of the hope and joy of Christ’s resurrection remembered. I realize that by the time this newsletter reaches you we will be a good ways past Holy Week and Easter. Never the less, still fresh in my heart and mind, it is my theme for today. The truth is, as the children’s song says it: “Every morning is Easter morning form now on! Every day is Resurrection Day, the past is over and gone! Goodbye guilt, good bye fear, good riddance. Hello Lord, hello Sun! I am one of the Easter people! My new life has begun!” Indeed, as Christians worship our living Lord on the 1st day of every week, “the Lord’s Day”, every Sunday is a celebration of His resurrection. Therefore I want to share a poem with you written by one of our members, which I feel is worthy of sharing:

Easter Love
On Easter we celebrate love,
Love coming down from heaven
Love blanketing the Earth
In a transforming embrace;
Unique and infinite love
Giving more than we can imagine
For us, to cleanse our sins
A perfect sacrifice, Lamb of God
The walk, talking word.
He is teacher, role model, friend,
This God, in human form
Dying the rising from the dead
Proving all who all believe will also rise
To have eternal life, with Him
Lord of All
Oh, Happy, Happy Easter!

In Our time, no matter what time of year it is, we live in the “in between times.” We live by faith in the Son of God, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in between His 1st coming and His 2nd coming, in between His glorious resurrection and the “General resurrection of the dead and of the life of the world to come.” We can have a certain hope and blessed assurance that this life is not the End. As we put our trust in Jesus, we can know that He lives and so shall we!

God Bless you!

In His Regard,

Pastor Al
