Our youth group has recently finished our fundraiser for World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, and I would like to take this section of the newsletter to thank all of you who prayed, donated time and supplies, and gave financially to help bring food and necessary medicines to children in our world who need it the most. Through the combined efforts of everyone involved, over $5,000 has been raised for the cause, meaning that once again, there will be thirteen children in our world that have the opportunity to praise God for you and your generous giving!

I am reminded of a passage in 2 Corinthians:

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

2 Corinthians 9:10-15

You’ve been blessed to be a blessing, and you’ve taken up that privilege by your generous giving. Thank you for your part in furthering the cause of the gospel in word and in action!

May you be blessed by the fact that the praises of children are going up to God because of you!
