Women of st Paul's… We are women with a purpose!
The organized unit of the Women of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and expand concepts of mission through participation in the Global Ministries of the Church.”
- We are organized for growth, with flexible structures leading to effective witness and action.
- We provide opportunities and resources to grow spiritually, become more deeply rooted in Christ, and put faith into action.
- Scholarships and project funding are some ways the Women of St. Paul’s make a difference.
All ladies are invited to join the Women of St. Paul’s. Membership in the church is not required, nor is there an age requirement. Many “FUN”draisers are held throughout the year to meet our obligations to more than thirty worthy causes. Our semi-annual rummage sales have become the community’s favorite bargain events. Between the Annual Craft and Vendor Show, the Elegant Afternoon Tea, the Baked Potato Luncheon, the Holiday Shoppe, and our annual Pizza and Caroling night, our schedule is complete; all for the Glory of God.
There are three “circles” to choose from, each meeting monthly. Following is a brief summary of each. Telephone the church office (732-458-2080) for circle contacts. We welcome your questions and support. At each meeting, we fellowship, discuss the upcoming events, and share spiritual messages. June lets us participate in a dinner out, and December a lively Christmas celebration, including a grab-bag game. New members are always welcome. New circles are also encouraged
LYDIA CIRCLE
The Lydia Circle meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the church library. Our gatherings include devotions, crafts, friendship, dining out, and celebration parties. In addition to participating in all the Women of Saint Paul's activities, we prepare gift bags for women's shelters and for pregnant mothers. Times may vary. Please call the church office for more information at 732-458-2080
MIRIAM CIRCLE
Miriam Circle includes women of a wide range of ages. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the church. The meetings begin with prayer and devotions, continue with a discussion of WOSP business, and conclude with sharing joys and concerns. In June, they have a barbecue at a member’s home, and in December, a member hosts a party and gift exchange. They create craft projects to sell at the Holiday Shoppe and look forward to helping at the Spring and Fall Rummage Sales.
SARAH CIRCLE
Sarah Circle is composed of retired ladies who meet during the day. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:30 PM at a member’s home. They begin with lunch and go over any upcoming events for the WOSP. Fellowship is important for these ladies, as is sharing joys and concerns. A lunch out in June ends the year, and the annual Christmas gathering in December is highlighted by the grab bag game. All scheduled WOSP events are attended by members who look forward to working with the other circles for the common mission.
